Kelly Perkins
Kelly’s passion for cycling goes beyond just jumping on his bike. He is dedicated to advocating for safer roads and shoulders, believing that cleaner infrastructure, enhanced signage, and dedicated green lanes can make riding a bike in Utah safer for everyone. His commitment to safety has helped bring Stay Park City Cycling and other organizations together to help promote positive change in Summit County, and we are grateful for his dedication!
Meet Kelly
1. You are passionate about cyclist safety, can you share more about your passion and how you became involved with cyclist safety and advocacy?
I believe the roads and shoulders could be cleaner leading to enhanced safety for cyclists. I want to make it safer for everyone in Summit County with more signage and green lanes as well.
2. How did you first get into cycling, and what do you love about it?
Trying to be green, fitness and euphoria
3. How do you enjoy spending your time when you are not cycling?
Reading about cycling and fitness :)
Winter skiing , summer camping
4. What advice do you have for new members wanting to join SPCC or how would you describe SPCC to potential members?
There is a group and ride discipline for everyone, the people in the club are super chill, give it a try!
5. What is a favorite SPCC memory or experience you would like to share?
All of the Sunday rides are great and other breakout rides with club members who I have developed friendships with
6. What do you love most about SPCC?
All inclusive, supportive and chill
7. What are some of your favorite riding routes?
Royal Street, Empire Pass, town loops and neighborhood gems
8. What do you consider to be the best ride or race you have ever done?
Santa Barbara Gran Fondo 2024, good result competing with a large field.
